The heroine speaks:
The Lord is hailed by him who,
of yore,
Wed the fair-armed Nappinnai;
The consort of beauteous Nappinnai;
The Lord`s beauteous feet shame the ruddy gold;
In the garden that girds His Tillai
He had union with me in a place
Where black punnai bloomed with golden flowers
And where the sands were like pearls.
My heart went after his chariot
As he left me,
after union.
What is it that it does here,
this day?

(Heroine’s fair wilts)
Fair Maal with his consort nappinnai
Praise the valorous kazhal-feet of Civa-Lord
Of Tillai, where in groves, laurel-trees
Auric blooms and buds are strewn on sandy vast;
Over them the chariot of my lover and All,
Has rolled, after union in venial haste!
Closely has followed it my heart taking to heels!
So hurt, so palpitant, so sore with grief! What alas!
(Civai thinks on Grace staying with Being)
