Civaṉ who has ornaments and a waistcord of cobras!
God who dwells at the temple, avināci in pukkoḷiyūr!
I gave up completely cherishing with love other gods except you
I gave up even seeing them.
Civaṉ who has a black neck and who can show things to my eyes which they cannot see by themselves!
If you show me I shall see things, very much again.

Adornment and bow string are but serpents to you. Reside you do in TiruppukkoLiyoor
Avinaasi shrine to kill all sin. Me thy servitor left all for good clinging only to you; hence
never saw any ; my cursed eyes you remade to view from their viewless course. O, One
with venom tinct neck! Were you to open my eye of wisdom, I may catch thy glories more!
