on Civaṉ who has a spotless form and ruddy and great caṭai which stands erect in which the water increases.
the god who rides on a bull that can fight.
the god who dwells at the temple avināci in pukkoḷiyūr
and who has a black neck.
there will be no sufferings to those who can recite the verses of great fame which were composed by the devotee, ārūraṉ, thinking of Civaṉ in his mind.

His locks are wet and swollen with waters logged; long shoots of matted locks are His; Pure End is He;
War Bull is His mount; Murky is His Neck; Abider Lord in Avinaasi undoing sin in the town of TiruppukkoLiyoor
a site for devas to refuge and hide. Him His servitor Nampi Aarooran has sung for a certain good
in these hymns far famed. Whoever sing these measures in meet style and faith shall be rid of woe.
