Civaṉ who has the name of Āraṇiya viṭaṅkar!
the sacred ash on your form shine likes pearl.
you come and stand before us having on your half a lady of dark and long eyes.
we are unable to bring alms and place it in your bowl
you walk out from this place
you who are our master said, I am an inhabitant of Paiññīli, holding a ruined white skull in the hand
Have you on your caṭai a river?
please tell us.

O, Lord dwelling in the dense charnel, holding a pale, broken bowl cranial, why shout:
\\\\\\\"I am here in Tiruppaigneeli, give me some alms\\\\\\\"The ash upon thy holy mien glows with radiance
white and pearly; with long dark eyed girl in half, you have come; more than that, don\\\\\\\'t you carry
Ganga on matted locks? Tell. Though with alms to give you are we, we give none to thee. Get gone.
