చేతిలో, మొలకు, మెడకు నీవు పాములను తగిలించు కొన్నావు. శరీరమంతటా నీవు పూసుకొన్న విబూదిని ఆ పాములు కూడా పూసుకొని నీ వెనుక వేలాడుతూ ఉన్నాయి.
మరి నీవు వేదాలను వల్లిస్తావట!
అందంగా మెల్లగా సంగీతాన్ని కూడా మేళవించి పసందుగా పాడుతూ మా ముందు నిలుచుకొని “నేనూ పయిఞ్ఞీలి నివాసిని” అని నీవంటున్నావు.
భిక్షమెత్తుకోవడానికి కారణ మేమి?

සිව් වේදය දෙසන්නෙහි ගී ද ගයමින්
සෙමින් පිය නගා’වුත් පෛන්

O, Lord the Fairest, in the hideout of Forest, a snake in arm, a serpent around the neck, an elapid
round the waist, all slither at the back, the whole mien is awash with ash; you chant Vedas;
also music in gentle pace breezes from you. With all these, you announce: \\\\\\\" I stay in holy Tiruppaigneeli,
give me a little bybwaybof alms\\\\\\\". What fair look is this begging for, beggaring description? Tell.
