kaiyaar ve'nmazhuvaa kanalpoa'r'riru maeniyanae
maiyaa ro'nka'nallaa 'lumaiyaa'lva'lar maarpinanae
seyyaar sengkayalpaay thiruvaanmi yooru'raiyum
aiyaa vunnaiyallaa ladaiyaathena thaatharavae.

Translation:

Civaṉ who holds in his hand a white battle-axe!
who has a holy body as red as the fire.
who has a chest on which Umayal, a good natured lady of bright eyes coated with collyrium is flourishing the master who dwells in tiruvāṉmiyūr where in the fields red carp fish leap.
