ku'ndaa dugnsama'nar kodugnsaakkiya ren'rivarka'l
ka'ndaar kaara'nangka'l karuthaathavar paesa:nin'raay
thi'ndaer veethiyathaar thiruvaanmi yooru'raiyum
a'ndaa vunnaiyallaa ladaiyaathena thaatharavae.

Translation:

you stood unaffected when these people, the camaṇar who practise low things and the cruel cākkiyar though they know somethings do not know the causes for those, spoke slander about you.
the god who dwells in tiruvāṉmiyūr in whose streets the strong temple-cars are drawn during festivals!
